When making your decision to donate your body for research and education, you will have to choose which organization is best suited for you and your family? Biological Resource Center stands out by providing the best service to donors and their families. Every day, our goal is to set new standards for compassion and care as we assist families with this most important decision.
Biological Resource Center personally meets with terminal patients and their families in person to complete the required paperwork and answer questions. We perform this service either at the patient's home or in the care facility (whichever is more comfortable for the patient and his or her family). No other donation organization in the United States provides this service to the donors and families they serve.
When a donation to Biological Resource Center is made, and after procurement is complete, the family will receive their loved one's ashes in a dignified wooden urn for keepsake, not a cardboard box. The urn is hand delivered to the family anywhere in Arizona (BRC of Illinois will deliver the urn to donor families living within 50 miles of our location) withing 1-3 weeks following the donation process. On average the urn is delivered within 7-10 days. If the donor family lives outside of Arizona or outside of the 50 mile BRC of Illinois radius we will send the donor's urn through the United States Postal Service (USPS) at no cost to the donor family. Again, no other donation organization in the United States provides this service to the donors and their families.
There are no hidden costs associated with the donation process when donating to Biological Resource Center. The only cost to the family is the cost of the official death certificate (which is currently $10 in the State of Arizona. Illinois death certificate costs will depend on the city and county where death took place). Transportation of the donor, completion and filing of the death certificate and the cremation of the body following the donation are paid for on behalf of the donor and his or her family. The family is never billed for service.
